Each year the Westhaven Foundation awards two $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. The selection committee takes into account the overall performance and involvement of the student, but the chief criteria is their involvement in volunteerism in the community.
This year, after reviewing many exceptional applications, the Westhaven Foundation has selected two outstanding recipients: Haley Cunningham received the Fountain Scholarship (awarded to a Westhaven resident) and Jack Abrams received the Lift Scholarship (awarded to a non-Westhaven resident who lives in Williamson County).
Hailey Cunningham graduated from Father Ryan High School and currently works part-time as a hostess at the Westhaven Golf Club. Hailey will be attending Ole Miss aka University of Mississippi this fall and plans to study marketing and business. Hailey’s volunteer experience includes leading vacation bible school in the Dominican Republic, volunteering at Belle Meade Methodist Child Center and High Hopes Development Center, and doing mission work in Honduras. Hailey’s parents are Brian and Nicole Cunningham.
Jack Abrams also graduated from Father Ryan in May. He owns (and founded)Tiger Meat Franklin and works at Binks Sporting Goods. Jack played varsity lacrosse, served as a student ambassador to recruit students to Father Ryan, founded the Peer Mentor Program, and worked as Editor in Chief of the school yearbook. He has volunteered at Relay for Life, SOUL for Safe Haven, and Westhaven’s annual Run 4 the Cure. Jack will be attending Pellissippi State Community College this fall. Jack’s parents are Daniel and Amy Abrams.
Congratulations to these two outstanding individuals!!
